The Chair Dilemma

*Update. I've made a decision. The majority said don't worry about matching, so I'm going with green polka dot for Elliott and pink polka dot for Lillie. The pink and red will clash a little, but I like the idea of them sharing in the polka dots... I guess it's a twin thing!

When Jack turned 1 my mom and Ken gave him his "red chair" and he LOVES it. So naturally I want Lillie and Elliott to have one too. My dilemma is this. Do I try to coordinate their chairs with Jacks or do I just pick 2 that I like and not worry about if it "matches" or not. I think I know where I'm leaning (matching vs. non- matching). What do you think?

Jack has red. Which one do you think Lillie and Elliott should have?

Pumpkin Carving

Last night, a first for our little family, we carved a pumpkin! This was Jack's first time to see what was inside the pumpkin. I don't think he was too impressed. Once we opened it up he started complaining about the smell and went in his room and shut the door! Lillie and Elliott, of course, wanted to be right in the middle of all the action. Next year they can get their hands in it.

We Tried

We got up at 6:00 this morning and got ready to head down to Rockefeller Center for the Today Show. By 8:00 we were in our spot and by 8:30 we were headed back home. All 3 kids had meltdowns while we were there and it was not worth it to fight it. Here are the only 3 pictures I have. Maybe we'll try again next year...

We'll be dressed up again tomorrow night. We don't have definite plans, but may meet some up with our old neighbors. I'll hopefully have better pictures of the kids in their costumes then.

The Today Show

It's time again for our 2nd Annual Halloween trip down to Rockefeller Center for the Today Show! Due to Halloween falling on a Saturday the big Halloween show is tomorrow (Friday) morning. We'll try to get down there around 7:30, last year we got on the air sometime in the 8:00 hour. That's 8:00 for everyone, no matter what time zone your in, due to the airing delays.

Look for a lady bug, dinosaur, and a puppy!

We'll be with the Coe's, the ones who got us started on this last year, and the Probst's and maybe a few more families from church. Maybe someone out there can tape it for us, we still have not seen the show from last year.

Another Tent

Easy tent! One fitted twin sheet and a baby bed!
Jack and Lillie played in this for a little bit this afternoon.
They read books and watched the aquarium while Elliott finished out his nap in another room.

3 In The Tub

We had a great time last week in TN. We arrived late Tuesday night and came home this past Monday. Jack LOVED being with all his cousins, really had fun with them. It was a packed week. Wednesday I spend the afternoon with Ellie, so good! That evening we had an adult only dessert with Kristi and Bubba and Scott and Diana while all the kiddos stayed with Gran and Grangramps. Thursday we spent the day with my side of the family and had the twins one year old picture taken. It was the first professional picture they've had. I'm excited to see how they turn out. Friday we were with the Wyatt side of the family all day. We went to the Pumpkin Patch after naps and had a great dinner that night. Saturday we spent the morning with those who are partnering with us here in NYC, went to Nathan and Carries wedding that night, and my 10 year reunion afterwards. Sunday we went to church and celebrated Lillie and Elliott's first birthday that afternoon (a few weeks early). Monday we visited with Freddy T's grandmother and then had lunch with mine and headed to the airport that evening.

I'm a little tired just recounting it all! But we had a great time! When we put the twins in their bed Monday night they were so excited. They were giggling and jumping up and down. We just left them in there with the lights off. After about 10 minutes they were passed out. Slept hard all night! It was their first time back in the same room in a week. I think they missed each other at night.

I'll try to post more details once I have pictures to go with it. I didn't take any because my camera battery was dead the whole time but I'll get some pictures from others.

In the mean time this is a clip from earlier today. My first attempt at bathing them all at one time. The video is short. I have another video but I didn't do a good job hiding the private parts, so I'll just post this one. I appear to have it under control. Don't be fooled! This is only 9 seconds!

I Wike (Like) Them..

This morning Jack climbed in bed with Freddy T. and I, along with Lillie and Elliott joined them. After playing for a few minutes Jack looked at Freddy T. and said "I wike my brother and sister." So good to hear him say that. Not that I doubted it, it's just nice to know he really enjoys them.

You're It!

Lillie and Elliott started chasing each other today. It's been a lot of fun to watch. They go back and forth as to who is "it." The best part is they laugh so hard at each other while they are doing it.
(I hate that the video is sideways, but that was my mistake while I was filming it)

New Bath Spot

It's just easier to give them bathes in the sink!

More From Our Day Today

Here are a few more pictures from our day today. Our friend Mickey Micklos came with us. He had his camera and snapped a few photos of our family while we were out.

Our family picture. Several were taken, this was the only one close to being decent.
Jack was so excited to find the broccoli!
Fire Fighter Jack
This was a "harp." If you ran your fingers through the center it would run over the laser beams and make music. You can see the beams on Elliott's face.

We ate lunch at Brother Jimmy's. It's a BBQ restaurant that gives a discount on Wednesdays if you have a drivers license from a southern state. There were several signs in the place that read "Jack Lives Here". We told him to give us thumbs up... this is his version. Oh and I got to listen to country music while we were there. I haven't really heard country music for a year!
Jack ran ahead of us and when Freddy told him to stop he turned around and stood like this till we caught up.
Multi tasking!
New York City Pumpkin Patch?
Don't you love his smile! It is amazing how different he looks after his lip surgery!

Childrens Museum

Today we took our first family trip to the Children's Museum of Manhattan. We have a membership there and with the weather getting cold it was the perfect way for our family to spend part of our Saturday morning. We didn't stay long today, but we'll for sure spend lots of time here through out the rest of fall and winter.

Jack loved playing with the fire truck station. He is kind of on a fire kick these days. It all started when he asked what the stairs were on the outside of the apartment building we face. Freddy T. explained to him that they were fire escapes... now he talks about fire on a daily basis.

Lillie and Elliott enjoyed their time as well. It was the first time they were able to play at the museum.

Also it's cold here! Not freezing, but we for sure need our heavy coats. Elliott has one of Jack's old coats and on our way to the museum I bought Lillie a winter coat. She was wearing something old of Jacks as well.

Wow Mommy!

Our friends Melissa and Jonah are on their way over for a play date. I just vacuumed the rugs real quick. When I finished the living room rug Jack came in and said "Oh Mommy this rug looks nice." When I finished the rug in the kids room Jack went in and said "Mommy! You did awesome with this rug!"

Maybe he doesn't see a freshly vacuumed rug often enough?

Rainy Day Fun

It's a rainy, fall day here in NYC so we are staying inside, warm and dry.
Lillie and Elliott have learned a new trick!
We built a tent this morning under the kitchen table. It has a door and "electricity"! Fun for all!
