Laser Pointer

Awhile back our former door man, Van, gave Jack his "flashlight." Come to find out it was a laser pointer and could be harmful to your eyes if you look directly at it. We all know a 2 year old doesn't understand "don't shine that on your face." So I hid it and Jack never mentioned it again. That laser light resurfaced while we were unpacking. I almost threw it away, but held onto it just in case we ever wanted it.

Fast forward to tonight. I promised Jack earlier this evening that we would hang out on the balcony after Lillie and Elliott went to bed. We were out there, the three of us, talking and noticed a few cats wandering around the courtyard below. I had the idea to get the laser pointer out and see if we stir the cats up any. We did! Soon 5 cats were in the courtyard. Only 2 or 3 were interested in the lights, but Freddy and I were as entertained as Jack was. Jack loves cats. Freddy and I don't! He thought it was so great that there were a few we could watch tonight. I have a feeling they are regulars.

Sometimes it's the simple things that create fun memories.

Soon...

We just got internet today, so more blogging to come.

We are moved, unpacked, getting settled, pictures are even on the walls!

My grandmother came and was a full time baby sitter while I worked on getting our house set up.

I'll have pictures to post soon. Tonight we are having dinner with some friends on the courtyard in the back of our apartment. Freddy is grilling! Very excited!

We are very happy in our new apartment. God has for sure provided for our needs and even our wants!

Today

This morning we had to go to the doctor for Jack to have some blood work done in preparation for his lip surgery in a few weeks. He was so good. They had to stick the needle in 3 different veins before they got blood. His veins are too small right now for it to be "easy". He sat in my lap the first time and didn't make a sound, but tears were flowing from his eyes. So hard for me to watch. The next two time he cried like I expected him to. I think I can handle loud crying better than the silent cry. He was trying to be so strong. Because he was so good we went to a toy store and bought some new play dough.
He's showing you his band aids

Lillie and Elliott went with us this morning too. They were so good. Never made a sound till Jack started crying loud then Elliott lost it too. We are well known at the doctors office. It is a family practice, but there are very few kids there. I've never seen another kid in the office. We come barreling in 3 in tow.

Lillie is all over the place now. She'll go anywhere.
There were Cheerios under the exersaucer, so she climbed under and had a snack.

Elliott was sitting up in his bed this morning when I went in to get him. That was the first time he has greeted me in that position.

Busy Few Weeks

It's been very busy around here. We decided a few weeks ago that we needed to find a new apartment. Our apartment has served us well over the past year, but the rent is too much and more space would be nice, so we started looking at apartments and Freddy T. found one for us a few weeks ago. We've been busy painting and tomorrow I'm giving it a thorough cleaning so we'll be ready to move everything over the next several days. Our goal is to be completely moved in by next Monday, lots to do! The new apartment is great! Great kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a balcony, a courtyard for residences to use (its a small building) and the best feature... a washer and dryer! No more of this! I'll post pictures once we are all settled.

The kids have had several baby sitters over the past week or so letting me get work done on the new apartment. They do great with new people coming in an staying with them. Today a girl named Kat came, Jack had never met her. I told him a girl named Kat was coming and she was going to play the matching game with him. He smiled real big and said "Is the doggy coming too?" I knew he would be confused! I laughed and explained that it was a girls name not the animal. Too funny...

Here are a few pictures over the last week or so.

Not a great picture of Jack, but he piled up a bunch of pillows and got cozy reading on top of them.
Lillie and Jack working puzzles together one morning.
Elliott was playing with toys while Jack and Lillie worked puzzles. He would have joined them if he knew how to get to them... it won't be long!
Lillie learned how to sit like her cousin Karlee and she's clapping.

Twins: 10 Months

10 Months! This was the only way to get a picture on the blog today. It's been a crazy week, busy. I thought about the 10 month picture this morning and then not again until bed time. So here you have it!

This past month Lillie started crawling and pulling up in her bed. She also likes clapping! Elliott figured out this morning how to go from his stomach to sitting up and he is rocking on his knees pretty hard.
