Homemade Household Cleaners

I'm almost out of several of my household cleaners. I'm curious to know if you have any homemade cleaners that work for you. I know I can Google this and find hundreds, but I'm not interested in trial and error. I don't have time for that. I'm interested to know what works well!

I'm curious to know of any good concoctions that will save money. I'm not necessarily on a mission go "Go Green", that would just be bonus!

Let me know! Share your cleaning recipes and what you clean with it.

Sorry, all of mine are store bought. I'm sure someone will come up with some helpful ideas, though. Maybe I will pick up on some from the blog, too. Love you, Gran

I helped a lady at our church clean her house a few times when she was down in her back and she used all homemade cleaners...I'm pretty sure she used a mixture of vinegar and water for almost everything. (bathrooms, windows, mirrors, kitchen counters) I'll have to ask her and see what else she did! I left her house thinking I would do the same but I think it's just a habit to buy it at the store!
OH yea..the Super Baby Food book that Gran got us Christmas before last has some recipes for homemade cleaners!

Hey Susan, go to younghouselove.com and click on topics over on the right hand side. Then click on clean up your act, go to the second page and click on the blog post entitled "clean up your act:all natural homemade cleaners." They list several different cleansers and have tons of ways you can use them together to clean up your house. It's really neat! I hope this is helpful!!

i was about to tell you the same thing with young house love's cleaning product list. we use a few homemade solutions around our house--usually consisting of watered down vinegar with an essential oil so it's a little sweeter on the nose, and baking soda. i buy glass cleaner from the dollar store and can't tell a difference between it and the more expensive stuff. happy cleaning!

White vinegar is the best for cleaning. Visit passionatehomemaking.com and she has homemade cleaners for almost everything. I use her recipes. You can mix baking soda and vinegar for an all purpose cleaner - not sure of the ratio. I haven't bought store bought cleaners in a while and these work great for me!
