End of the Semester Crunch...and a Survey for Us All!

Hey gang, sorry about the lack of posting. The end of the semester crunch has arrived and will bleed into Thanksgiving break. Exams will be over December 2nd for me...and then I'll be back up and blogging. I do hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and who knows maybe I'll be desperate for a blogging break round midnight sometime in the next couple of weeks. Till then I'll give us a fun survey to participate in, so if you are reading...please leave your vote!

What is your favorite Christmas Movie? and...Why is that one your favorite?

HOME ALONE has all of these beat. But an old classic in our family is Christmas Vacation (don't you think FT.?) Wyatt especially likes the part where the little boy is using the TV to scare the robbers away and they fall on ice. He laughs so hard at that part. Great laughs and fun times remind me of great Christmas time. So I guess any movie that creates laughs and fellowship counts. Di

Call me mushy, but I love all the old classics- Holiday Inn, White Christmas, A Wonderful Life. Colorized is okay, but there is something about the old black and whites!

i've been behind on the posting myself...a little overwhelmed, i have to admit. BUT not too overwhelmed to answer this question... (in no particular order...except maybe chronologically)

1. the muppet christmas carol. why? b/c i remember watching this growing up in south carolina while my mom cooked THE BEST yeast rolls i've ever eaten. subconsciously, i just assume that those will always be served together..mmmmm...

2. ELF - the most hilarious movie i've seen in a long time. so many repeatable lines. an abundance of kid/adult humor. and will ferrell acting as a child. i'm a sucker for bulky adults acting like children anyway.

3. harry potter. ironic isn't it.

I'm with Diana - Home Alone - love the music in that movie! And Christmas Vacation is a great comedy!
And oh, if I had a dollar for every time Susan watched "Brady Bunch Christmas" while growing up (all year round!) I was ready to hide that VHS tape!
Study hard Freddy T!!!

On a more serious note. Frosty The Snowman and Rudolph are some of my favorite Christmas movies. True classics!

The correct answer is Muppet Family Christmas, home of the ongoing "watch out for the icy patch" gag. Unfortunately the distributed version on VHS cuts a few scenes short. Luckily we recorded it on Nickelodeon, it has commercials, but at least it's uncut. ;)

There are two movies I have to watch every year during the Christmas season, It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Story.
The first movie has been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl. (Yes, I was once a little girl, Freddy.) The second movie just makes me laugh because I can identify with so many things in it. I grew up in that era and I remember hearing so many mothers tell their sons that they didn't want them to have BB guns "because they would shoot out someone's eye". The movie was just plain funny anyway!
Everyone have a safe and blessed Thanksgiving!
