a mountain to the finish line...
Yes, there is a mountain of intense school work to climb before the finish line of the semester. I have taken a considerable blogging break because of the demands of the semester. Susan has begun her bloggin debut with great insight and style - as she's been holding us up in the blogosphere. I want to blog about our experience at an African American church in Old Louisville last Sunday...but it will have to wait. It was so great, it is worthy of its own post. I did stumble upon this and could not resist letting you in on it. It may take a minute to download, but it is worth the wait. I found it at Taylor Worley's new blog where he is leading the way in Theological aesthetics. I look forward to some more good posts once the semester is over. Till then, I'm climbing a mountain.

Okay. Many many handslaps to me for not having posted before now. As I read the current entry about how Susan has graciously and joyfully helped to hold up the blog for the both of you, I was reminded of how lucky I am to have people who help me to do the same. Even more amazing has been the chance to watch my dear friend Katrina Watts as she climbs her own mountains to the finish line--but for her, that finish line we see off in the distance is raising her five month old daughter to be a solid, strong Christian young woman. As each hill and valley occur, she has taken each conflict and struggle on with grace and faith. Always appreciative of the help others offer, yet never expecting assistance, as she has faced her mountain--single motherhood in recent months I am inspired by her efforts to make strong, real progress in her life--for herself and her child. I'm interested to know, as others were reading the entry--when you were thinking of Susan's support for Freddy and his own up hill climb, who in your life has you thinking about how to face mountains with strength and honor for Him? What have you learned lately about climbing up your own hill toward the Cross?

Well, this is my first ever comment on someones blogthing...
just wanted you to know that I am so excited that i found your blogspot-thanks to alittle clarification from Susan.
The best way to climb that mountain is one day at a time...before you know it - you will look back at that finish line and smile-knowing it was God that got you through each step of the way! When you are feeling overwhelmed- breathe and praise God! He will renew you and you can press on!

We miss you guys so much...hopefully we can see you sometine in '06. Keep climbing!!
